What rural India is watching and creating?
My PhD has focused on Mobile Media interactions among rural women.
I studied how the presence of a mobile phone affected their lives and what it meant to their understanding of development, privacy, freedom, access and quality of life.
In the coming years, I want to focus on what they are doing online. What they post, the content they consume and everything in between!
I am working on a paper with older adults in rural India, slated to finish in August 2024. I will move to younger children next.

I am also working on proof of concept for a social commerce initiative, 'DigiUdyam' that utilizes my work with small rural business owners post COVID-19 to help design a module for easy digitization: customized to meet needs of all levels of Digital Literacy

It's a passion project that has a nod from the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises as one of the winners of the Women's Hackathon 2023(IDEAPB013035). I am slated to finish my work on the same by September/October 2024.
